Check back here often.  The first series of videos will give detailed explanations on how to create design Detail Sheets for your garments.  These Detail Sheets have been used with factories all over the world for various menswear projects and the factory managers love them.

And here is the Overview Video to start you off.  This shows the finished garment detail sheet, which is a working technical document that’s been used in factories around the world – developed by myself and a colleague while working for a manufacturer in NYC.  This document format was used to make apparel for WalMart, Stein Mart, CostCo/Hathaway, and many others.  I hope these help you in your projects.

Video Step 1 – Using existing lines to make new ones. Line weight will be covered as well.

Video Step 2 – More work with the line tool.  Learn how to adjust position and line weight.

Video Step 3 – We continue with the line tool and some explanation is given on choice of seaming as a design decision.

Video Step 4 – Fixing and repositioning lines.  Copying sets of lines for quick workflow is also an important part of working with Illustrator and we cover it here.

Video Step 5 –  We finish up the two ergonomic front seams and start to add the front pockets.

So, from here, see if you can finish out the pockets using double top stitch and do the copy technique to create the other pocket and get it placed.  More coming soon!  Stay tuned for the continuation.  Thanks.  Jeff
